Nepali Congress leader and former finance minister Ram Sharan Mahat today said the understanding to have transit treaty and free trade area between Nepal and China were major achievements of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s recent visit to the northern neighbour. “These understandings and agreement are positive achievements for Nepal,” Mahat, who is also a former finance minister, said at a talk programme in the Valley. “Now, we need to focus on implementation.” PM Oli had returned from a week-long visit to China on Sunday. Ruling CPN-UML leader and former finance minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari also hailed the 10-point Nepal-China agreement and 15-point joint communiqué issued during the PM’s visit.
