The Ministry of Energy has instructed the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to continue with the capital-based ongoing load-shedding free campaign and intensify the campaign to control power leakage and power theft in the days ahead.

The NEA has been asked to come up with an action plan for expanding the load-shedding free campaign nationwide.

More, the Ministry has sought a clear draft from the NEA regarding the resumption of the hydropower projects halted for a long time and on assistance that it needs from the Ministry towards this end.

Likewise, NEA Executive Director Kulman Ghising, Deputy Executive Director and Department Chiefs have been instructed to create a ground give attention to the reform of sub-stations and transmission system in the context of the country likely to import more electricity from India in near future.

Energy Minister Janardan Sharma asserted that the load shedding-free campaign is a key to success for the NEA.
