Dolakha Village is part of the Bhimeshwor Municipality of the Dolakha District of Nepal. The establishment of the township dates back to 14th century and is cited to be the first city-kingdom of Nepal to issue coins. It has enigmatic era and a rich heritage thus lending its name to a district. Home to a rich culture and tradition,Dolakha town is predominantly a Newar settlement. The village is home to the religious divine Bhimeshwor Temple. Besides with its long history the town is dotted with temples and stupas. This village has a status of town in a Nepalese context and was once a major stopover for Indo-Nepal-Tibet trade routes thus giving it a rich socio-economic history but lost it charm with change of regime and restricting of the states by various government over the last 40 years. Today the major income earning of the village is agriculture and tourism (especially religious). Dolakha Village consists of Ward No. 2, 3, 4 of Bhimeshwor Municipality having approximately 1605 houses with a total population of 6929.
