Comedy is the act or a form of entertainment consisting of jokes, satire or humorous performance which makes everybody laugh. When we hear the word comedy or video comedy our sense will be automatically active and prepare our self to laugh and forget everything else. There are different forms of comedy among them silent comedy is one which was hugely practised in the silent film era. Silent comedy is the dramatic work introduced to create fun among the audience by using facial expression and body movement replacing the words and sounds. Around 1900s where sound tracks on films were not available, silent comedy worked as the humour creator. After that the effect of silent comedy was replaced by the video comedy and sound tracks but still the silent comedians like Chaplin, Hal Beetle’s Beetle Boy comedies, Raymond Griffith, Buster Keaton, Roscoe Arbuckle, Monty Banks, Henry Bergman, Billy ,Bevan, Charles Bowers, John Bunny, Eric Campbell (actor) , Charley Chase, Claude Cooper (actor),Chester Conklin, Clyde Cook (actor),Mae Dahlberg ,Max Davidson, Fred Evans (comedian),James Finlayson(actor), Lloyd Hamilton, Mr.Bean , Oliver Hardy, Gale Henry, Alice Howell, Igor llyinsky, Lupino Lane, Harry Langdon, Laurel and Hardy, Stan Laurel, Max Linder, Harold Lloyd, Fred Mace, Mabel Normand, James Parrott and other were able to preserve and emphasis on silent comedy by focusing more on physical and visual humour.
