A 5-year-old boy got his head stuck in a plastic water pipe while playing with it on Monday in Fenghua city, Zhejiang Province. The naughty boy’s dangerous act happened after he was ignored by his parents while playing with the pipe. They had no choice but to send the boy to the local fire station to be set free. Firefighters needed half an hour to ease the mischievous boy’s head out of the pipe, resorting to using pliers and an electric grinder to free him. One of the firefighters told fairytales to the boy to take his mind away from the sticky situation while he was being rescued. The boy’s face and mouth were left swollen after he finally got out of the pipe. Local firefighters reminded parents to pay more attention to their children’s safety and to supervise them carefully.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed concern over delay in the post-earthquake reconstruction works and issued a directive to the concerned authorities to expedite the campaign. Inaugurating the seminar on reconstruction organised by the National Reconstruction Authority for the coordination among the related ministries, bodies and units in the Capital on Tuesday, the Prime Minister said that he was not much satisfied with the pace of entire works of the government as well as the reconstruction works. “I might also be blamed for this but the delay in the reconstruction campaign in the pretext of other obstacles and impediments would not be tolerated. I am ready to do everything on behalf of the Council of Ministers or Parliament for that cause,” he said. PM Oli stated that any employee making delay in works under any pretext from now onwards would be transferred. “It will not be good if building shelters for the earthquake victims takes decades,” he added. Stating that the details of the extent of reconstruction works and the employees assigned for overseeing that work should be made public through the national media on a daily basis from now on, the Prime Minister also underlined the need of mobilising the youth volunteers in the reconstruction works.

Upon his arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport this afternoon, the Prime Minister said the 10-point agreement signed between two nations including the trade and transit treaty was a significant achievement of the nation. “This treaty has ensured Nepal’s right to access sea as a landlocked nation and the right to transit freedom through the Chinese land.” He added that he held significant dialogues with Chinese leaders and officials regarding collecting Chinese support for development of physical infrastructures in Nepal. “Both sides have agreed to expand land and air connectively and improve infrastructures of land transport,” he added.During his visit to China, Nepal and China had sealed 10 separate agreements and Memorandums of Understanding on using the northern neighbour’s sea port facility, building a regional international airport in Pokhara and exploring the possibilities of signing a bilateral free trade agreement and finding oil and gas reserves in Nepal among others. Prime Minister Oli had called on Chinese President Xi Jinping. During the meeting, they had discussed matters relating to mutual interests and bilateral cooperation. Police on Saturday arrested two aspiring doctors on charge of using fake academic credentials to obtain the doctor’s licences. Under its Operation Quack, the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police today arrested Rajeev Kumar Jha and Prithvi Narayan Yadav while they were taking the examination for the doctor’s licence being conducted by the Nepal Medical Council. Police said Jha (31), a permanent resident of Matsari-5 of Rautahat district had submitted a certificate of the Intermediate level with the false scores from the Bihar Intermediate Education Council in order to pursue the MBBS degree from China. After completing the MBBS course, he had done internship at a Nepali health facility also. He, however, had failed the NMC licence test for 12 times, according to police. In another case, Yadav (29) from Bahuari-4 of Bara district, also acquired a certificate with fake scores from the same institution in the same year (2006) and did MBBS from China. He had failed the NMC licence test 13 times.Police said both of them had added some marks on their actual scores either to show they had passed the Intermediate exams or to improve their grades. The CIB had launched the Operation Watch few months ago in collaboration with the NMC and Higher Secondary Education Board in a bid to rid the medical sector of fake doctors. Police said the arrestees would be charged under the Nepal Medical Council Act, 1964.

Police on Thursday intervened in a protest program staged by the victims of decade-long armed conflict in front of the prime minister's official residence in Baluwatar and took some victims and rights activists into custody for some hours. Nepal has inked 10-point agreements with China during the second day of Prime Minsiter KP Shama Oli’s week-long China visit on Monday. Since 1996, the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-Maoist) has been waging a ’p-eople's war’ to establish a communist republic in place of the extant constitutional monarchy. A corporate lawyer attached a spy camera to his right shoe and used it to record video clips of women in short skirts and dresses at a mall in Delhi, and was caught in the act on Saturday. CONJOINED twin boys have been successfully separated after a remarkable twelve-hour operation using 3D printer technology. Medics in China worked tirelessly to separate five-month-old twins Yu Ce Yuan and Yu Ce Xiang - known as James and Harley - who were joined at the abdomen. The surgery, on February 24, was made possible by the generosity of strangers around the world who donated $60,000 to cover the cost of the operation. The twins’ 20-year-old parents Yu Dang and Zhou Li travelled over 1,000 miles from their home in the rural, mountainous Guizhou province to Children's Hospital of Fudan University in Shanghai for treatment.

According to police Inspector Ram Bahadur Chand, the fire that broke out at the cotton factory owned by Pankaj Kumar Baishya at around 4 am today was contained with the help of Nepal Police and Nepal Army personnel backed by fire engines after five hours of battling.Chand said that the incident might have occurred due to electric short circuit. No human casualty was reported in the incident, Chand informed.

The Museum of Nepalese Folk Musical Instruments Chairman Ram Prasad Kandel said during the festival the experiences on works pertaining to research and conservation of national traditional folk culture would be exchanged. International experts on folk music including Nepal will also present their documents.
